01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
At Moyang, coffee is whisked with a chasen, a bamboo tea whisk, before being brewed by drip. The extra step makes an impression, and some visitors have also noticed the water being heated in a tea kettle. They say the coffee pairs well with the sweets. Choices include Moyang Coffee, café au lait and vanilla au lait, served hot or iced.
Part of the pleasure is choosing from the sweets on display that day. On one visit, a diner tried matcha and chocolate terrine, carrot cake and lemon cake, enjoying the different flavours in petite portions. Another visitor liked the aroma and texture of the lemon and carrot cakes and said they hoped to try other sweets next time. The menu also lists chocolate mousse and matcha cheesecake, alongside carrot cake; any of these could make a good companion to a coffee.
Sets pairing a drink with dessert are also available. One option lets you choose a drink and a dessert, while another set has been noted as including two desserts. For something other than coffee, the purple sweet potato, black sesame and kinako au lait drinks are served hot or iced. One visitor chose the purple sweet potato latte for its colour and said they could taste the sweetness of the potato.
The concrete walls give the interior a calm feel, according to visitors. They have also remarked that each seat has a different atmosphere and that it is a quiet place to spend time. The café opens on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 19:00.
